Garmin pint glasses nuvi 2597 is the first device from Garmin that offers "Garmin Real Directions", (Natural Voice Guidance), and although the immediate similar to other nuvi's, so it also contains a few other news.
A few years ago bought the Garmin German Navigon and now begins some of the most famous Navigon functions quietly being implemented. This time there is talk about Navigon's (excellent) "POI on route" and the active lane assistant.
HARDWARE The hardware itself seems somewhat "plastic-like", but I have been using the machine for several months, and so far I have not experienced any problems with either buttons, screen or otherwise.
The included stand is exactly pint glasses like all previous pint glasses nuvi holders, and has a great absorbency. However, the power cord must be inserted pint glasses on the back of the machine, which will then be hooked onto the holder. It's not something pint glasses that takes a long time, but annoying, especially on a cold and dark winter morning where the cord is stiff and the low light makes it hard to hit the jack at the rear of the unit.
MEET IDA, THE NEW GARMIN VOICE Those who had hoped they would also implement Navigon's voice guides, unfortunately I have to disappoint. pint glasses For now, we must settle for Garmin's own, which is certainly not up in Navigon's class.
The new "Lady in the Box" says Ida. IDA will include say to you that you should turn right at the traffic lights, instead of "turn right on Soendergade". Immediately it should thus be easier to orient themselves in heavy city traffic, but in practice I think now does not it make a big difference. In many cases, I hold already in the lane when I have stated that I have to swing at the traffic lights. But now it must also be said that I already belong to the people who have never been particularly impressed by the TTS functions. I simply can not see the benefit in having stated that I must turn left onto the street outside. Currently located myself in a strange city, with heavy traffic, it is not exactly small signs with street names I'm looking for. I just need to know exactly where I'm swinging. Just the same, I experience with Garmin Real Directions.
I must confess that I personally consider only function as a little extra passport and, unfortunately, it was decided to equip the IDA with the "famous Garmin accent". Therefore, it can be very difficult to understand what she is trying to say to you.
Believe me, in the above example you can peacefully sit at home in front of the computer screen and listen pint glasses to the guide, but you sit in the car with a little engine noise and a small PND speaker pint glasses on the windshield, while at the same time focused on the road, so it will be extra hard to understand the message.
Another example is the "Electric City" by Silkeborgvej / Ringgaden of Business. When you sit in the car and are told you have to swing by "Electric City", you have not actually possible to see the business before it's too late. I do not need to have to watch for some cafe or computer store when I just need to find the right way to turn onto. The ideal would be that you only used the more recognizable places such as. "Traffic lights", "gas station", "bridge", etc.
SIG WHERE TO GO But actually you only very rarely, even touching the screen. Garmin nuvi 2597 is in fact supplied with Garmin's excellent pint glasses "Voice Command" so you can operate the machine hands-free, or at least virtually hands-free. Of course, we turn down the Robbie Willams in the system and close the windows open in the car. If you do that, you'll find that it works quite excellent, even in cars that are not exactly pint glasses quiet.
With Garmin Voice Control lets you specify new addresses, search points of interest, increase or decrease the sound and brightness etc - Actually, there are many functions in the system, yet it succeeds Garmin to maintain a clear menu, and after a short time you will probably ha 'become accustomed to most commands, and therefore should not sit and read on the screen.
IMPLEMENTATION OF NAVIGON FEATURES: Basically, this is clearly still a "clean Garmin machine & #
